<br /> 5.2A <br /> Page 7 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION ADOPTING MAY 2006 REDWOOD CITY EMERGENCY <br /> OPERATIONS PLAN <br /> WHEREAS, the protection of life, property and natural resources is an inherent <br />function of government; and <br /> WHEREAS, Redwood City desires to ensure the most efficient use of resources <br />to protect its people and property before, during and after a natural, technological, or <br />man-made emergency by adoption of an up-to-date emergency operations plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, to protect life and property and retain compliance with both federal <br />and state law, the 2006 Redwood City Emergency Operations Plan has been prepared <br />to confirm Redwood City's emergency organization, assigns tasks, presents policies <br />and g~neral procedur~s, and coordinates planning within various emergency <br />management functions utilizing the Standard Emergency Management System in <br />alignment with the National Incident Management System; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 2006 Redwood City Emergency Operations Plan is an extension <br />of the State Emergency Plan and the San Mateo County Operational Area Plan. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That the May 2006 City of Redwood City Emergency Operations Plan is hereby <br /> adopted. <br />2. That the National Incident Management System (NIMS) should be the City <br /> standard for incident management. <br />3.
