Responses to question asked Mar 14, 2019.
,--1&,21Z i'l
' ,,eu6J Com'l M
`"0 Qw (
Question asked in the form of "From 1 (strongly oppose) to 5 (strongly support), how much do
you support the following statement?"
Redwood City should draw its next City Council
district map using a citizen commission.
Total responses: 494
People in support: 328
People in opposition: 53
Neutral/don't know: 113
Comments
In support:
100 150 200 250
5 = strongly support
■ 4 = generally support
3 = neutral/don't know
2 =generally oppose
1 =strongly oppose
+10 5 Clearly an objective third party entity needs to make the map. With 3 current council
members all living in the same area they artificially made the maps pivot at a location so
they could keep their seats and neighborhood constituents. Look at the Mt Carmel
neighborhood and current council. Clearly this isn't what district elections were meant for. If
we have to do it- do it fairly- not to accommodate politicians.
