6.E. - Page 2 of 4 <br />The project included a fully accessible pedestrian path of travel across Alameda de las Pulgas and a design <br />that conforms to City, State, and Americans with Disability Act (ADA) standards. Approximately 3400 <br />square feet of concrete sidewalk, 800 linear feet of concrete curb and gutter, and 12 curb ramps were <br />installed on the project. Other associated improvements include storm drain inlet improvements and the <br />restoration of private property improvements. The project location map is in Attachment A. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds for the Alameda De Las Pulgas Sidewalk Improvement Project include the developer contribution <br />based on the Improvement Agreement, and the remaining funds were previously approved and <br />appropriated in Fiscal Year 2016-17 budget as Capital Outlay Funds — Alameda De Las Pulgas Sidewalk <br />Improvement Project with an available balance of $31,466.46 as of February 2019. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />As the lead agency, City of Redwood City determined that the Alameda De Las Pulgas Sidewalk <br />Improvement Project meets the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) exemption criteria as <br />set forth in CEQA Guidelines Section 15301, ("Existing Facilities") of the CEQA regulations. <br />Furthermore, this project was designed i n compliance with the City's Engineering Standards and <br />accepted practices. A Notice of Exemption was filed with the office of San Mateo County in August 2018. <br />Furthermore, this project has been designed in compliance with the City's Engineering Standards and <br />currently accepted practices. <br />This project did not require a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permit <br />for stormwater discharges associated with construction and land disturbance activities pursuant to <br />Attachment A.2 of Order No. R2-2015-0049, NPDES Permit No. CAS612008, which exempts projects <br />to update existing lines and facilities. However, the proposed construction did employ stormwater <br />pollution prevention best methods and practices. <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Public Notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72 <br />hours prior to the meeting. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />The City Council may choose not to accept the project or authorize the release of bonds and retention; <br />however, this would be contrary to the terms of the contract, prior Council action, and public contracting <br />code. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Attachment A: Project Location Map <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore <br />126 <br />
