6.D. - Page 16 of 27 Task 2 Deliverables. • Existing Conditions Memo • Traffic count data • Yield study findings for Jefferson and Clinton intersection TASK 3: DEVELOPMENT OF DESIGN ALTERNATIVES Consultant shall prepare conceptual design alternatives that reflect the Complete Streets best practices to increase safety for pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicular movements at the project intersection. Task3.1:Preliminary Engineering and Alternative Development Consultant shall develop up to three (3) conceptual design alternatives for the Jefferson/Cleveland intersection. The alternatives shall address the project goals and priorities and shall focus on increasing the safety and multimodal function at the Jefferson/Cleveland intersection including reducing vehicle speeds, incorporating bike facilities, and improving intersection crossings and geometry. Crosswalk and intersection art, or other types of public artwork, may be of interest to community members and will be considered as an option for the project. Consultant shall prepare order -of -magnitude construction cost estimates for the alternatives. Alternative designs may include: • Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB) or full traffic signal • Pedestrian crossing enhancements such as high- visibility crosswalks and rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs) • A diverter and partial road closure to limit vehicle movements to right -out only onto Jefferson Avenue; bicyclists will be allowed to continue straight and will be able to actuate the traffic control to facilitate crossing Jefferson • Bulb -outs at the northwest and southwest corners with ADA -compliant curb ramps and shorted crossing distances. The design alternatives will be reviewed by City staff before presenting at the community workshop.
