increased 13.8% and residential increased 28.5%. The total assessed value of the district
now stands at $1.1 M.

1) All Appeal applications must be received by September 17, 2001 by 5:00 p.m. The
Appeal hearing will be held on December 10, 2001 at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter
as possible, in the City Hall Council Chamber, 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City.

Public Comment:
John Murphy thanked Council and staff for providing infoi-iiiation on Redwood
Shores. He further thanked Council and staff for attending the April 25 Annual
Redwood Shores Homeowners Association meeting. He suggested the City's
representatives attend all annual neighbrohood meetings. He stated his recollection that
the Council's monthly meetings were reduced from four to three, thereby, increasing
the Council compensation by one third. He further stated that if the compensation was
increased by 50% it would, therefore, be a 100% individual meeting compensation. He
stated while he does not dispute the increase, he does feel any change should be
submitted to the voters. The 2001 appraisal report, together with the large scale map
showing the exact current district boundaries and related parcel maps, should be
required reading for each and every current or future property owner or resident in
Redwood Shores. The documents could be made available at Sandpiper Library.

M/S Howard/Hartnett to close the public hearing.
