Sewer Enterprise Fund <br />PWS Superintendent Harang explained the Sewer Enterprise Fund stating that the <br />total increase is $2,078,586 that includes City- controlled costs and SBSA <br />increase. She further explained the proposed recommended rate increases to be <br />effective on August 25, 2006. <br />Council questions ensued regarding increases to SBSA that Utilities Committee <br />Member Ira stated are a result of increasing capital costs for repairs due to an <br />aging system. <br />M/S Foust/Ira to approve the Sewer Enterprise Fund budget concept. The motion <br />passed by a unanimous voice vote by those present with Council Member <br />Howard absent. (305) MINUTE ORDER 06 -135 <br />7. PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />A. AMENDMENT OF SEWER SERVICE CHARGES <br />Mayor Pierce opened the public hearing. There was no public comment. <br />Council asked about the City's response to requests for rate structure adjustments <br />for seniors and others requesting such consideration. Utilities Committee Member <br />Foust stated that staff will study other municipalities' processes for rate structure <br />with a report to be presented in late December or January. <br />M/S Foust/Aguirre to close the public hearing. The motion passed by a <br />unanimous roll call vote by those present with Council Member Howard <br />absent. <br />M/S Ira /Aguirre to: <br />1. Introduce ordinance amending Redwood City Code — Section 27.100 — Sewer <br />Service Charges. <br />2.
