ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 27.100 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO SANITARY SEWERAGE SERVICE CHARGES <br />The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote by those present with <br />Council Member Howard absent. (305) MINUTE ORDER 06 -136 <br />8. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST - <br />A. Legislation (information only) - This sub - section involves possible discussion <br />of City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California <br />Cities Priority Focus Bulletin No. 24 -2006. Council may direct staff to act on <br />positions taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities Priority Focus <br />available in City Clerk's Department.) <br />Council Member Hartnett — stated his appreciation for the budget preparation <br />process, reports and document. He expressed his desire for all Department Heads <br />to be present during all budget sessions. <br />Vice Mayor Foust — stated that the Redwood Shores Community Association <br />received grant funding from the City of Redwood City through the Cultural <br />Commission to conduct three jazz concerts. In Redwood Shores, the concerts take <br />place on June 29, July 27 and August 31 at Marlin Park — refer to redwood city.org. <br />The Stafford Park concerts are on Wednesdays and the Live in Downtown on <br />Fridays. A second topic mentioned was a rash of burglaries in the Redwood <br />Shores neighborhood and that several reports from the Police Chief along with a <br />press release from the City Manager and Mayor have been issued concerning <br />awareness. The burglaries are occurring during the daytime hours and neighbors <br />are working together to report any suspicious behavior to the Police Department <br />noting specific details of vehicle descriptions, etc. <br />Council Member Ira — stated his concern in making sure that there is no <br />duplication of services or competition between programs, especially, in the <br />children's programs. He asked that there be coordination and utilization of dollars <br />in the best possible way. <br />Council Member Bain — stated that since the Council discussion of unrestricted <br />intersections, he has received two petitions from two of the five intersections <br />discussed. He will submit the petitions to staff and look forward to the forthcoming <br />staff report. <br />Mayor Pierce — stated that she had attended a conference sponsored by the <br />Water Transit Agency and some presentations pertained to high density housing <br />in port areas, such as Vancouver, Hercules and Alameda.
