ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 27.100 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO SANITARY SEWERAGE SERVICE CHARGES The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote by those present with Council Member Howard absent. (305) MINUTE ORDER 06 -136 8. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST - A. Legislation (information only) - This sub - section involves possible discussion of City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California Cities Priority Focus Bulletin No. 24 -2006. Council may direct staff to act on positions taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities Priority Focus available in City Clerk's Department.) Council Member Hartnett — stated his appreciation for the budget preparation process, reports and document. He expressed his desire for all Department Heads to be present during all budget sessions. Vice Mayor Foust — stated that the Redwood Shores Community Association received grant funding from the City of Redwood City through the Cultural Commission to conduct three jazz concerts. In Redwood Shores, the concerts take place on June 29, July 27 and August 31 at Marlin Park — refer to redwood city.org. The Stafford Park concerts are on Wednesdays and the Live in Downtown on Fridays. A second topic mentioned was a rash of burglaries in the Redwood Shores neighborhood and that several reports from the Police Chief along with a press release from the City Manager and Mayor have been issued concerning awareness. The burglaries are occurring during the daytime hours and neighbors are working together to report any suspicious behavior to the Police Department noting specific details of vehicle descriptions, etc. Council Member Ira — stated his concern in making sure that there is no duplication of services or competition between programs, especially, in the children's programs. He asked that there be coordination and utilization of dollars in the best possible way. Council Member Bain — stated that since the Council discussion of unrestricted intersections, he has received two petitions from two of the five intersections discussed. He will submit the petitions to staff and look forward to the forthcoming staff report. Mayor Pierce — stated that she had attended a conference sponsored by the Water Transit Agency and some presentations pertained to high density housing in port areas, such as Vancouver, Hercules and Alameda.
