<br />his established rate of pay, compensation at the lowest step <br /> <br />or rate of pay for the job classification to which duties he <br /> <br />has been assigned, representing an increase of at least five <br /> <br />per cent above the rate paid to such employee immediately prior <br /> <br />to such assignment for that time worked, exclusive of the first <br /> <br />day thereof. <br /> <br />SECTION 35. <br /> <br />The provisions of the foregoing sections of <br /> <br />this ordinance to the contrary notwithstanding, if a position <br /> <br />allocated to a given class in the competitive service is <br /> <br />reallocated to a different class in order to correct an error <br /> <br />or to provide for a change in duties or responsibilities of such <br /> <br />position, and there is no change in the incumbent of the position <br /> <br />so reallocated, and the maximum salary provided for the position <br /> <br />as reallocated is less than the salary received by the incumbent <br /> <br />prior to reallocation, then said incumbent shall continue to be <br /> <br />compensated at the rate paid said incumbent prior to such <br /> <br />reallocation. <br /> <br />SECTION 36. <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 1557, adopted February 12, 1973, <br /> <br />entitled "An Ordinance Establishing Salaries for Certain Desig- <br /> <br />nated Employees of the City of Redwood City; and, Repealing <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 1519," is hereby repealed, effective January 1, <br /> <br />1975. <br /> <br />SECTION 37. <br /> <br />This ordinance shall be effective 30 days after <br /> <br />its adoption; provided, however, the provisions hereof shall be <br /> <br />operative retroactively to and including January 1, 1975. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />-20- <br /> <br />-'^-"...... -_._-"--"-_._-"- <br />
