<br /> 6.16 <br />REPORT Page 1 <br /> To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From the City Manager <br />August 7. 2006 <br />Subject <br />Agreement with the Redwood City School District and the City of Redwood City for 21 st <br />Century Funded After School Program Services <br />Recommendation <br />Approve and Authorize the City Manager to Execute the Agreement between the City of <br />~edwood City and the Redwood City School District for 2006/2007 <br />Background <br />The City of Redwood City in partnership with the Redwood City School District. Redwood <br />City 2020 and other partners have received Federal 21st Century After School Funding to <br />operate After School Learning Centers at school sites in Redwood City and North Fair <br />Oaks. City recreation staff coordinates the recreation and enrichment programming, <br />provides the supervision of children, and works directly with each school on service <br />enhancements. The schools which receive the 21st Century Grant funding include: Fair <br />Oaks, Hawes, Selby Lane, and John Gill. The total estimated reimbursement for services <br />at these schools is $234,738. <br />Each year, an agreement Is made between the City and the School District for this <br />program. The agreement details the scope of work that the City will provide at the After- <br />School Program sites, and that the Redwood City School District will reimburse the City <br />from the 21st Century Funds it receives. <br />Fiscal Impact <br />Funding for the program has been granted by the Federal 21st Century Program. <br />Alternative <br />Council may choose not to enter into this agreement. f//J <br />~ a~ <br /> Corinne Centeno EdWard Everett <br />Superintendent Director City Manager <br />Attachment: <br />Agreement <br /> .._. ,- <br />
