Criteria for Two- Way Stop Signs
. A street or minor road intersects a main road; and/or
. Most intersections in the immediate area are controlled
by traffic signals; and/or
. High speeds, restricted view, or crash records indicate
need for stop sign control.
Guidelines: Stop signs should not be used for speed control.
At intersections where a full stop is not necessary at all
times, less restrictive measures such as yield signs should
be considered.
