Under the Downtown Precise Plan, Hamilton Avenue will become a short
retail street providing an attractive pedestrian and vehicle connection
from Depot Circle to Courthouse Square and Broadway shopping and
restaurants.
4. Redevelop Block 2 as part of the Gateway (See Concept, Attachment 6).
a. A hotel at the Depot Circle corner of Block 2. (The Caltrain station
and the connection to San Francisco Airport make this an excellent
hotel site.)
b. Approximately 300 parking spaces for Downtown use are required
to be maintained on Block 27
c. An office development on Jefferson end of Block 2 (as the
downtown office market strengthens) could make joint use of the
parking. (Office use during the day and Downtown peak hour
parking on nights and weekends.)
5. Funds derived from the sale and redevelopment of Block 2 can be used to
pay the capital costs of developing Depot Circle.
7 See the provisions of the Parking Facilities Agreement for the circumstances under which the
Downtown parking on Block 2 can be eliminated.
- 10-
,- ,-
