I C I id A l- <br />RESOLUTION NO. 13861 <br />RESOLUTION AMENDING RELOCATION GUIDELINES <br />IMPLEMENTING CHAPTER 42 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY TO ADD THE USE OF A COMPLIANCE <br />ORDER TO ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS, AND DEFINITIONS AND <br />TO PROVIDE FOR NOTIFICATION PROCEDURES AND <br />APPEAL PERIODS <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 11957 entitled, 'Resolution <br />Adopting Interim Housing Relocation Benefit Guidelines Pursuant To Redwood <br />City Code Section 42.10," adopted April 5, 1993, guidelines were established to <br />implement Chapter 42 of the Code of the City of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, rental dwelling units exist in the City which are in violation of <br />zoning, building, or other regulations of the City of Redwood City relating to <br />safety, and /or health, and /or habitability of such units: and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 2179 of the City of Redwood City <br />entitled "Ordinance Adding Articles II and III To Chapter I To The Code Of The <br />City Of Redwood City Providing For Administrative Citations, Penalties And <br />Remedies For Compliance And Administrative Orders Respectively," adopted <br />August 9, 1999, the issuance of a compliance order may result in rental dwelling <br />units being vacated when violations occur relating to safety, and /or health, and /or <br />habitability; and <br />WHEREAS, the rental dwelling units most likely to be in violation of safety <br />and health laws and regulations frequently are occupied by persons of modest <br />economic means; and <br />Reso -854 <br />Vsh /sh/RC /Council <br />FXS:fs <br />03/29/00 <br />
