CALED Workshop Series Focuses on Retail Development <br /> <br /> CALED, in partnership with Victor Grgas of VSG & Associates and Alan Kotin of ADK & <br />Associates, will hold a series of workshops on retail development at the Burbank Airport Hilton <br />Hotel. The workshops are being offered in response to questions that CALED has received from <br />cities and economic development corporations throughout California. <br /> <br /> The first workshop; Getting Your Community on Track for Attracting Retail <br />Opportunities will be held November 6th' It will focus on the many different things that need to <br />be considered before a community can determine whether a retail development project is right <br />for them. <br /> <br /> The second workshop; Attracting and Developing New Retail Projects is scheduled for <br />February 5, 2003. This workshop will explain the many financial aspects of retail development <br />as well as breakdown the art of doing the deal when you find the right project for your <br />community. <br /> <br /> The final workshop, How to Work With Existing Retail, is scheduled for February 6, 2003 <br />and will be taught by retail consultant, Kent Burnes. This workshop will focus on tracks and <br />trends in retailing and the top 20 issues facing retailers today. <br /> <br /> While CALED recommends taking all of the retail workshops because of the step-by-step <br />information that will be offered, attendees can register for one or mix and match to suit their <br />communities' needs. Cities and counties are eligible applicants for the BTA <br />program.
