CCS Partnership's E-Newsletter Goes Live <br /> <br /> The Cities, Counties & Schools (COS) Partnership's on-line newsletter is now available at <br />http://www.ccspartnership.or,q/newsletter. <br /> <br /> Established in 1997, the CCS Partnership is a joint effort of the League Of California Cities, <br />Califomia State Association of Counties and California School Boards Association. The <br />Partnership promotes the development of public policies that build and preserve communities by <br />encouraging local collaborative efforts among Califomia's 476 cities, 58 counties and more than <br />1,000 school boards and districts the partners represent. <br /> <br />Strengthening Hometown Security <br /> <br /> Two new guidebooks on Homeland Security issues for local govemrnenta are now available <br />on a special section of the National League of Cities' (NLC) Web site. That group has guided NLC's work in preparing <br />resources to help city officials in carrying out their new roles as the front line of hometown <br />defense. <br /> <br />A summary of Lessons Learned from the September 11th Terrorist Attack was developed from <br />a series of briefings with first line responders in New York City in July 2002.
