8.B. Amendments to City Code Chapter 33A relating to Temporary Street Closures <br />and Regulations for Courthouse Square; Authorization for the Chief of Police <br />to temporarily close City streets; update to Schedule of Fees for Courthouse <br />Square and other Special Events; and update to Courthouse Square <br />Administrative Guidelines <br />Recommendation: <br />1. Waive First Reading and Introduce an Ordinance amending City Code Chapter <br />33A, Article I (Temporary Street Closures) and Article III (Regulations for <br />Courthouse Square); <br />2. Adopt a Resolution pursuant to California Vehicle Code section 21101(e) <br />authorizing the Chief of Police to temporarily close City streets; <br />3. Adopt a Resolution updating the Schedule of Fees related to events at <br />Courthouse Square and other Special Events; <br />4. Adopt a Resolution updating the Courthouse Square Administrative <br />Guidelines; and <br />5. By motion, direct staff to administratively incorporate the proposed fees into <br />the City's Master Fee Schedule. <br />6. By motion, appropriate $15,000 in one time funding to the Civic Cultural <br />Commission grant program to allow non-profit organizations which held special <br />events in 2018 which required City permits to apply for grant funding to help <br />offset any potential cost increases related to City permits and fees for holding <br />those same events between June 2019 and June 2020. <br />CEQA: <br />This is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) <br />9.A. Housing and Human Concerns Committee Fiscal Year 2019-2020 funding <br />recommendations for Redwood City Human Services Financial Assistance <br />(HSFA) and funding recommendation for LifeMoves Redwood Family House <br />Recommendation: <br />By motion, approve funding recommendations for the HSFA Program and <br />funding recommendation for LifeMoves Redwood Family House for FY 2019- <br />2020 as delineated in Attachment 1 <br />CEQA: <br />This is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) <br />9.13. Amendment of Chapter 12 of the Redwood City Code to adopt a Social Host <br />Ordinance for the Illegal Use of Fireworks. <br />Recommendation: <br />Page 6of7 <br />
