Meets with project representatives, professionals, citizens and organizations to <br />encourage action or resolve problems related to the division's activities and <br />projects. <br />10. Utilizes and/or directs the use of computers and software programs for various <br />technical projects and studies. <br />11. Responds to inquiries regarding zoning and subdivisions; review applications for <br />compliance to ordinances. <br />12. Attends Planning Commission meetings; provides staff support; prepares the <br />agenda for these meetings. <br />13. Prepares environmental impact reports and a variety of other planning -related <br />reports. <br />14. Prepares meeting agendas for the Zoning Administrator, Plan Review Committee, <br />and Subdivision Committee. <br />15. Assists with amendments to the General Plan and zoning ordinances. <br />16. Performs related duties as assigned. <br />Qualifications <br />Knowledge of: <br />• Theories, principles and practices of urban and regional planning. <br />• Objectives, principles, standards and trends in the fields of advance, current <br />and/or transportation planning. <br />• Land use, physical design, and demographics; and environmental, social and <br />economic concepts. <br />• City's General Plan document, precise plans, zoning ordinance, City Charter, <br />City Code and related documents. <br />• Local, State and Federal laws applicable to planning, zoning, subdivision and <br />environmental review, including but not limited to, the California Environmental <br />Quality Act (CEQA), Permit Streamlining Act, Subdivision Map Act, and the State <br />of California Planning and Zoning law. <br />• Functions and practices of City and other governmental agencies; functions and <br />practices of municipal planning. <br />• Methods and practices of community organization and citizen participation. <br />• Principles and practices of organization, administration and personnel <br />management including supervision, training and performance evaluations <br />• Recent developments, current literature, and informational sources in the field of <br />planning and zoning. <br />• Research methods applicable to assigned work. <br />Ability to: <br />• Organize, implement and direct professional planning activities. <br />• Interpret and explain pertinent City and department policies and procedures. <br />• Implement, interpret and explain complex policies, procedures, codes and <br />ordinances <br />REV: 04-09-19 PR <br />Page 11 of 15 <br />ATTY/AGR.2019.082/Urban Planning Partners/Contract Planning <br />
