shall not occur until after root cutting is performed. Contractor is responsible for <br />the repair of existing irrigation systems. <br />V. Measurements: Sidewalks shall be measured and paid to the nearest square foot <br />exclusive of the curb and gutter. Curb and gutter shall be measured and paid to <br />the nearest linear foot. ADA ramps shall be paid per unit installed. Additional sub- <br />base excavation materials shall be paid to the nearest tenth cubic yard. <br />vi. Asphalt replacement must be IN-KIND. <br />C. Hours of Construction <br />Contractor shall perform services from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through <br />Friday, unless otherwise specified for off-peak hours. <br />ii. Contractor shall not schedule construction activities on holidays and/or <br />weekends and other City declared holidays. <br />D. Contractor shall notify property owners of upcoming work at their location. <br />Contractor shall post "No Parking" signs at least seventy-two (72) hours prior to <br />the start of work. Signs shall be furnished by the City. <br />ii. Contractor shall notify residents, businesses, or others located near a work site <br />seven (7) days prior to the start of work. <br />E. Contractor shall prepare and secure sites at end of each workday at various <br />locations throughout the City. <br />The Contractor shall keep the sidewalk open at all times unless a trench location <br />makes closure unavoidable, in which case the sidewalk may be closed while <br />working. The Contractor shall make provisions for pedestrian access if sidewalk <br />is closed. Open trenches are not allowed overnight. Steel plating with cut back <br />shall be installed until temporary surfacing can be constructed. <br />ii. The Contractor shall maintain access to all driveways, except when actually <br />doing construction within the driveway boundaries, at which time, partial access <br />will be maintained unless alternate arrangements can be made with the property <br />owners or tenants in advance. At all times, the Contractor shall provide safe and <br />adequate passage for vehicular and pedestrian traffic through, around and <br />adjacent to all construction operations by use of detours, signs, cones, traffic <br />barriers, flaggers, bridging or other City approved means. <br />iii. No work shall proceed on a site unless temporary barriers, fences, gates and <br />protection are installed and functioning. <br />iv. Contractor shall be responsible for supplying, placing, and maintaining all <br />construction signs, lighted barricades, cones, and other related traffic safety <br />equipment to assure the safety of motorists as well as pedestrians.
