operations by use of detours, signs, cones, traffic barriers, flaggers, bridging or other <br />City approved means. <br />c. No work shall proceed on a site unless temporary barriers, fences, gates and protection <br />are installed and functioning. <br />d. Contractor shall be responsible for supplying, placing, and maintaining all construction <br />signs, lighted barricades, cones, and other related traffic safety equipment to assure the <br />safety of motorists as well as pedestrians. Contractor agrees that it will assume sole and <br />complete responsibility for job site conditions during the course of construction, <br />including safety of all persons and property, and that this requirement shall apply <br />continuously and not be limited to normal working hours. <br />e. All materials and substances shall be disposed of at the Contractor's expense, and shall <br />be included as part of the item price. Hazardous materials and substances shall be <br />disposed of in accordance with all applicable state, federal, and city requirements. <br />f. Contractor shall execute final cleaning prior to final inspection which includes, but is not <br />limited to: removing grease, dust, dirt, stains, labels, fingerprints and other foreign <br />materials from exposed finished surfaces, repairing, patching, and touching up marred <br />surfaces to match adjacent finishes, mechanically sweeping paved areas, and removing <br />waste and surplus materials, rubbish and construction items from a site. The cleaning of <br />equipment or materials shall not be performed on-site or in the street using soaps, <br />solvents, degreasers, steam cleaning or equivalent methods. All cleanup must be <br />performed in a designated area that will not allow the cleaning rinse to flow off-site or <br />into streets, gutters, storm drains, or creeks. <br />6. Final inspection and Guarantees <br />a. At least five (5) City business days' notice shall be given to the City's project manager <br />that a project is ready for final inspection, that the Contractor has carefully inspected all <br />portions of the work and that all is correct. <br />b. Upon notice that the work is ready for final inspection, the City's project manager <br />together with the Contractor, shall promptly make a joint inspection of the work and <br />note deficiencies, if any. If there are no deficiencies, or when noted deficiencies have <br />been corrected and City's project manager finds the work acceptable, then the work can <br />be considered completed. <br />c. Contractor shall guarantee for one full year (365 days) from date of acceptance of <br />completed work and acceptance thereof by the City, to repair or replace any <br />improvements that constitute defects resulting from the use of inferior or defective <br />materials, equipment or workmanship. <br />7.
