6.J. - Page 4 of 10
Notification of when the project is planned to be on the CSAC agenda will be distributed to residents and
other interested parties through the methods outlined above, and the project website will maintain the
most current project plans for public viewing throughout the process.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding for this project is included in the Fiscal Year 2018-19 Engineering Division budget.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The project is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act
(CEQA) Guidelines per Section 15301 (Existing Facilities) because the project would involve minor
alterations to existing streets in a manner that does not create new vehicle lanes, and Section 15306
(Information Collection) in that the purpose of the project is to collect data to evaluate the project's
impact on traffic operations, safety, and livability.
PUBLIC NOTICE
Public Notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72
hours prior to the meeting.
ALTERNATIVES
There are several alternatives the City Council could consider.
1. The City Council may choose not to award the contract and re -advertise the project.
2. The City Council may choose not to award the contract and direct staff not to proceed with the
pilot project, and not to proceed with the Hopkins traffic calming project.
3. The City Council may choose not to award the contract and direct staff not to proceed with the
pilot project, but to proceed with the design of permanent installation of traffic calming measures
without the installation of a pilot.
ATTACHMENTS
Attachment A: Project Location Map
Attachment B: Resolution Approving Hopkins Traffic Calming Pilot Project
Attachment C: History of Community Engagement
For a copy of the detailed design please visit this website:
https://www.redwoodcity.org/home/showdocument?id=17953
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
108
