Funding Requested: $10,000. Funding <br />Recommended. $10,000. <br />Society of St. Vincent de Paul of San Mateo County — Peninsula Family <br />Resource Center. The SVdP's Peninsula Family Resource Center (PFRC) is a <br />homelessness prevention program that helps families and individuals throughout <br />San Mateo County by providing assistance with basic survival needs, such as <br />food, rent and utility payments, transportation, clothing, and furniture to working - <br />poor families and individuals, the unemployed, and seniors living on fixed <br />incomes — to keep them housed and fed. Funds were requested to provide <br />rental assistance to Redwood City families. Funding Requested: $20,000. <br />Funding Recommended. $15,000. <br />StarVista — Your House South. Your House South provides crisis intervention <br />and support for runaway and homeless youth as well as youth at risk of <br />homelessness. Services include: 24/7 crisis response; crisis intervention and <br />family reunification counseling; emergency overnight or longer term, voluntary <br />residential placement (up to 21 days); individual, group, and family counseling; <br />and aftercare with referrals to a broad range of community service partners who <br />assist families in meeting health, mental health, educational, housing, food and <br />many other needs. Funding Requested: $25,000. Funding Recommended: <br />$10,000. <br />Street Life Ministries — Clothing Closet and Hotel Vouchers. Street Life <br />Ministries (SLM) offers meals four nights a week in Menlo Park, Palo Alto, and <br />Redwood City. Dinners include non -obligatory participation in church music and <br />optional Bible message or a short talk by a local pastor or leader. SLM provides <br />additional direct assistance offering clothes, medical supplies, advice and <br />counseling, and coordinates with other organizations to help find shelter, <br />housing, rehabilitation, and other critical services to homeless friends in our <br />community. Funds were requested to purchase sleeping bags, underwear, and <br />socks for the clothing closet and hotel vouchers. Funding Requested. $10,000. <br />Funding Recommended: $0. <br />United Way of the Bay Area — 211 Redwood City. 211 is an information and <br />referral helpline that connects residents to food, shelter, health care, and other <br />vital community services. Nationally and locally, it is also utilized during times of <br />emergency or disaster. Funds were requested to support increase in quality and <br />outreach of 211 in Redwood City.
