Legal Aid attorneys, project staff, and trained pro bono <br />attorneys meet one-on-one with clients at the housing clinics where they answer <br />questions, provide legal advice, help with the completion of legal paperwork, and <br />explain to clients what to expect in the county's housing courts. Funding <br />Requested. $20,000. Funding Recommended. $15,000. <br />Peninsula Family Service — Fair Oaks Adult Activity Center — Meals and <br />Wellness. <br />Peninsula Family Service strengthens the community by providing children, <br />families, and older adults the support and tools to realize their full potential and <br />lead healthy, stable lives. Funding from HSFA will support the core nutritional <br />and wellness services for older adults age 60 and over at the Fair Oaks Adult <br />Activity Center in Redwood City. These meals are integrated with a menu of <br />services comprising the wellness model at the Fair Oaks Adult Activity Center. <br />The model is designed to make a long term impact on the health and wellness of <br />vulnerable, primarily low-income older adults/. Funding Requested: $20,000. <br />Funding Recommended. $10,000. <br />Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. (PVI) — Meals on Wheels (MOW). PVI Meals on <br />Wheels is the sole provider of home delivered meals to eligible older adults and <br />adults with disabilities in Redwood City. There are three key project activities of <br />the MOW program: <br />1) MOW will deliver one meal a day to clients who are unable to shop or <br />cook for themselves and have no one reliably able to assist them. <br />2) MOW will deliver meals that provide 1/3 of the daily recommended dietary <br />intake for older adults. <br />3) MOW will deliver meals that supports health and aides in managing <br />chronic disease. <br />Funding Requested: $10,000. Funding Recommended: $10,000. <br />Samaritan House — Free Clinic of Redwood City. The Samaritan House Free <br />Clinic of Redwood City provides — at no charge to its patients — basic healthcare <br />services for low-income uninsured residents of the Sequoia Healthcare District. <br />Activities include providing primary care medical services, dentistry and special <br />services such as endocrinology, diabetic care, gynecology, dermatology, internal <br />medicine, nephrology, neurology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, optometry, <br />podiatry, and nutritional counseling. Funding Requested: $15,000. Funding <br />Recommended: $10,000. <br />Service League of San Mateo County/Hope House Residential Program for <br />Women & Infants. The Service League's Hope House provides temporary <br />shelter, food and other emergency and life-sustaining services for an average of <br />50 women and their infants annually.
