WHEREAS, the changes and additions to said Code, which are proposed <br />to be made clarify the Code and in certain instances, impose more stringent <br />protection requirements than are required by the Code and include: (1) bracing; <br />(2) special structural provisions for Younger Bay Mud area; (3) prohibition on <br />metallic piping and electrical conduit in certain areas; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 17958.7 of the California Health and Safety Code <br />requires insofar as such changes and additions relate to apartment houses, <br />hotels, motels and dwellings, and buildings and structures accessory thereto, <br />that the governing body of a city, before making any changes and additions, <br />shall make an express finding that such changes and additions are reasonably <br />necessary; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. In connection with the adoption of that certain ordinance entitled, <br />"Ordinance Repealing Articles IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, and Article IX, Divisions I and 2 <br />of Chapter 9 of the Code of the City of Redwood City; Adding Articles IV, V, VI, <br />VII, VIII and Article IX, Divisions 1 and 2 of Chapter 9 to the Code of the City of <br />Redwood City Relating to the Establishment of Regulations and Standards for <br />Building and Structures in the City of Redwood City and Adopting by Reference <br />the Following Codes: 'The Uniform Building Code, 1997 Edition,' 'The Uniform <br />Building Security Code, 1997 Edition'; 'The Uniform Housing Code, 1997 <br />Edition'; 'The Uniform Mechanical Code, 1997 Edition'; 'The Uniform Plumbing <br /> <br />Reso-5 2 <br />FXS:jtl:mkc 13673 <br />611/99 <br /> <br /> <br />
