This would
expand the current team from three to four Human Services Specialists.

Staff has developed a partnership with Public Allies Silicon Valley for the placement of an
AmeriCorps Public Ally at the Fair Oaks Community Center and secured a two-year grant
to fund this pilot.

The addition of the Public Ally will make it possible for the City to better meet the demand
for services at the Fair Oaks Community Center and for our permanent, full-time human
services specialists to provide targeted "wrap-around" case management for homeless or
otherwise at-risk individuals or families. The latter is an important contribution to our own
City's efforts assist homeless individuals and families in the context of the county-wide
effort to end homelessness (HOPE Plan).

The agreement covers the first year of Redwood City's partnership with Public Allies Silicon
Valley. Redwood City will pay to Public Allies Silicon Valley a total of $15,777 in three
separate installments toward the Ally's stipend.

Alternative
Council could make modifications to the contract or decide not to approve the contract.

Fiscal Impact
No city general funds would be used to pay for this contract. Sufficient funds have been
raised through a grant to pay for the 'c lIy placement.

\
\

.,7

Attachment

n..L..I:_ ^H:__ C":I:___ \/_11_,. ^,.,p,."."m........+
r-UUIIl; ,",III~:S .:>1IIl;UII Vdll~Y '"'!:f'eell Clll
