<br />6.1E <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />AGREEMENT <br /> <br />This Agreement (IIAgreementll) is made and entered into as of this <br />25th day of August, 2006, by and between the following entities <br />(sometimes referred to as the "Parties"): Public Allies Silicon <br />Valley, whose principal place of business is 600 Valley Way, Suite <br />C, Milpitas, CA 95035. Public Allies Silicon Valley is a program <br />of Bay Area Community Resources, a State of California non-profit <br />corporation incorporated under the laws of the State of California <br />with its principal place of business at 171 Carlos Drive, San <br />Rafael, CA 94903. <br />City of Redwood City/Fair Oaks Community Center(lIpartner <br />Organization"), a SOl(c)3, with its principal place of business <br />at: <br /> <br />2600 Middlefield Road <br />Redwood City, CA 94063 <br /> <br />WITNESSETH: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Public Allies Silicon Valley's Leadership Development <br />Program (IIProgram"), the purpose of which is to recruit and select <br />young people (collectively, the "Allies"; individually, an nAllyn) <br />for training and placement in public interest groups, community- <br />based organizations, government agencies and other organizations <br />working for social change; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Partner Organization has indicated that it: <br /> <br />(a) is an organization having service in the public interest <br />as its mission; <br /> <br />(b) is committed to diversity, staff development and <br />thoughtful management; <br /> <br />(c) has a clearly defined and compensated AmeriCorps service <br />position (npositionll) suitable for a prospective Ally, <br />expected to have an approximate duration of ten months <br />(September 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007) following <br />commencement of employment (such months constituting the <br />II Term II ) ; <br /> <br />(d) will not use federal funds or federal grant dollars for <br />payment or compensation for the AmeriCorps member or for <br />purposes of fulfilling Section I (B) (i); <br /> <br />(e) will provide a close formal relationship pursuant to <br />which Public Allies Silicon Valley will furnish to <br />Partner Organization, and Partner Organization will <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />
