<br />Life Insurance: <br /> <br />Long Term <br />Disability: <br /> <br />Uniform <br />Allowance: <br /> <br />Bilingual <br />Differential: <br /> <br />Tuition <br />Reimbursement: <br /> <br />Unused Sick <br />Leave Credit: <br /> <br />Retiree Medical <br />Trust Fund: <br /> <br />6.10 <br /> <br />Effective within sixty days of Council approval of MOU, City will offer Page 2 <br />to eligible employees additional buy-up option for life insurance to one <br />and one"half times annual salary with City and employee sharing <br />premium costs 60%/40% respectively. <br /> <br />Effective with first full pay period after Council approval of MOU, the <br />City will reimburse up to $25.00 per month per employee towards cost <br />of Long Term Disability. <br /> <br />Effective second year of the contract, the City will increase annual <br />uniform allowance to $620.00; in third year to $640.00; in fourth year <br />to $660.00 ($20.00 annual increase per employee). <br /> <br />Effective as soon as administratively possible after Council approval <br />of MOU, City will change 2.5% "basic" bilingual pay to ''first responder" <br />bilingual pay, and add an additional 2.5% for advanced bilingual <br />differential, providing for a total of 5% differential for those qualified <br />employees. This is consistent with the bilingual policy and procedure <br />for safety personnel in other groups in the City. <br /> <br />Effective immediately after Council approval of MOU, the City will <br />increase annual tuition reimbursement to $500.00 per employee per <br />fiscal year ($50.00 annual increase per employee). <br /> <br />Effective immediately after Council approval of MOU, the City will <br />provide 100% payout of accrued unused sick leave if an employee <br />dies in the line of duty or whose death is determined to be directly <br />attributable to injury or illness sustained while on duty. <br /> <br />During term of agreement, City and IAFF will meet and confer <br />regarding establishment of a retiree medical trust fund, with any <br />implementation effective by the end of calendar year 2007. <br /> <br />Alternative <br />Direct staff to continue negotiations with the International Association of Fire Fighters, <br />Local 2400. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />The above enhancements to the Memorandum of Understanding are within the maximum <br />authority set by the City Council. The total package costs for this five-year contract is <br />$1.355 million.
