<br />6.10 <br />Page 19 <br /> <br />7.3 Work Schedule <br /> <br />The regular workweek for employees in the classification of Fire <br />Fighter/Engineer and Fire Captain shall be fifty-six (56) hours on existing work <br />schedules. The work schedule shall consist of eight (8) twenty-four (24) hour <br />on-duty periods within a twenty-four (24) day cycle to be worked in accordance <br />with the following chart: <br /> <br />x = 24 hour on-duty period <br />o = 24 hour off-duty period <br /> <br />XOXOXOXOOOOXOXOXOXOOOOOO <br /> <br />7.4 Starting Time <br /> <br />The regular starting time for Fire Fighter/Engineers and Fire Captains scheduled <br />for a fifty-six (56) hour workweek shall be 8:00 A.M. <br /> <br />7.5 Overtime <br /> <br />7.5.1 Fifty-six (56) Hour Workweek Employees <br /> <br />Overtime for employees . in the classifications of Fire <br />Fighter/Engineer and Fire Captain is authorized time worked beyond <br />the regular scheduled workweek in Section 7.3. Overtime shall be <br />compensated at one and one-half (1-1/2) times theemployee's <br />regular rate of pay for any time worked beyond a Rre <br />RghterjEngineer or Fire Captain's regular twenty-four (24) hour <br />work shift. Regular rate of pay shall be defined as the hourly rate <br />of pay based on a 56 hour work week (112 hours per pay period). <br />Payment for overtime shall not be made unless such overtime has <br />been authorized by the Fire qQi,ef, or designated representative, <br />prior to such overtime being worRed'. <br /> <br />7.5.2 Compensatory Time <br /> <br />Upon request, employees shall be compensated for such overtime in <br />compensatory time off. An employee's compensatory time off <br />balance shall not exceed seventy-two (72) hours at any given time. <br /> <br />7.5.3 Hire Back Procedures <br /> <br />The Hire Back procedures will be included in the Operations Manual, <br />as amended effective May 1, 2002. Any changes to the Hire Back <br />procedures will be by meet and confer. <br /> <br />12 <br />
