Plan, direct, coordinate and review the work of the section's crews and <br /> contractors to insure compliance with section standards. <br /> <br />3. Update and maintain section work standards. <br /> <br />4. Recommend to management necessary improvements of safety standards, work <br /> methods, quality standards and the Urban Forestry Master Plan. <br /> <br />5. Assist in preparing requisitions for necessary equipment, materials and supplies; <br /> assist in the preparing equipment specifications. <br /> <br />6. Maintain records necessary to monitor performance of the Urban Forest. <br /> <br />7. Assist management to investigate complaints and suggest corrective action; <br /> study maintenance functions and recommend improvements. <br /> <br />8. Assist management to prepare budget estimates and requested reports. <br /> <br />9. Responsible for all safety requirements, rules and regulatiOns pertaining to <br /> Redwood City policy and standards, current, applicable Cai O.S.H.A. articles, <br /> and current, applicable A.N.S.I. standards. <br /> <br />10. Inspect project sites to evaluate work progress and quality; resolve work <br /> problems; determine additional needs. Recommend to management necessary <br /> actions to correct deficiencies. <br /> <br />11. Assist management in preparing, developing, and updating notification letters <br /> and other public information materials. <br /> <br />12. Assist management in planning and coordinating projects and tree policy issues <br /> with other sections and departments. <br /> <br /> 13. Inspect trees on public and private property to determine if tree protection <br /> measures are followed dudng construction and if the Tree Preservation <br /> Ordinance or Street Tree Ordinance has been violated. Review permit <br /> applications and make initial recommendations for approval / denial of street tree <br /> permit and hedtage tree permits. <br /> <br />14.
