<br />Cork Marcheschi <br />Fabrication & Installation Agreement <br />Page I of5 <br /> <br />Exhibit A <br />Scope of Services <br /> <br />"Consultant" shall mean "Artist." <br /> <br />"Artist" shall mean Louis "Cork" Marcheschi. <br /> <br />"Street" shall mean the three blocks of Middlefield Rd from Veterans to Broadway. <br /> <br />"RDA" shall mean the City of Redwood City Redeyelopment Agency. <br /> <br />"Engineering" shall mean the Engineering and Construction Diyision of the Community <br />Deyelopment Department. <br /> <br />DESIGN ELEMENTS <br />The oyerall design and imagery of the Artwork shall conform to Artist's design proposal <br />"Lanterns" as presented to and selected by the City Council of the City of Redwood City <br />on July 24, 2006 consisting of an illuminated patchwork glass sculpture in the shape of <br />a lantern. Artwork shall include without limitation: <br /> <br />1. The structural framework for the sculpture panels and all attachments needed to <br />secure the Artwork piece to the streetlight poles. The dimensions of each piece <br />shall be approximately 4 feet x 16 inches. <br /> <br />2. Panels will be made from a combination of indiYidually made laminated dichroic <br />glass and aluminum elements. <br /> <br />3. Brackets will be made of continuously welded plate aluminum 3/16 to 1/4 inch thick <br />and attached to the street light poles by four stainless steel bolts per lantern <br />bracket. The 3/8 inch diameter bolts will pierce the light poles and be fastened <br />with stainless nyloc nuts. <br /> <br />4. Lighting elements will use a four neon tubes per fixture. The core will be an <br />octagonal-shaped armature that will support the 4-bulb structure. The tubes will be <br />powered by a solid state transformer with a primary yoltage of 240 volts ac. The <br />transformer will be connected to power provided by the City and located at a hole <br />approximately 10 to 12 feet off the ground. The piece will proYide all necessary <br />electrical connections to connect with supply as provided by City of Redwood City. <br />
