<br />- <br /> <br />duty assignments as determined by the chief of police and <br />approved by the city manager compensation may be paid at <br />an hourly rate in an amount set by the council: and provided, <br />further, that each member accepted, registered and appointed <br />by the chief of police as set out in section 26.2 shall be <br />an employee of the city for the purpose of obtaining benefits <br />under the workmen's compensation contract of the city with <br />the state compensation insurance fund. <br />"Section 26.5 All reserve police corps members when <br />on actual assigned duty shall have all rights, powers, <br />privileges and authority of a regular member of the police <br />department. <br />"Section 26.6 1\11 members of the reserve police corps <br />established by section 26.1, after appointment, shall be <br />furnished with a distinctive badge indicating that they are <br />special police officers. <br />".s,.ection 26.7 It shall be a misdemeanor for any person <br />to represent himself as a member of, or to be connected with, <br />the reserve police corps, unless he is in fact a member <br />thereof or connected therewith. <br />"ARTICLE II. HARBOR POLICE RESERVE CORPS <br />"Section 26.10 The harbor police reserve corps, to <br />consist of not more than twenty members, is hereby created. <br />"Section 26.11 The purpose of the harbor police <br />reserve corps is to assist regular members of the police <br />department assigned to harbor patrol in the performance of <br />their duties and activities: excluding, however, any duties <br />and activities directly involving law enforcement. <br />"Section 26.12 Application for membership in the <br />harbor police reserve corps established by section 26.10 <br /> <br />-2- <br />
