Excavation for underground <br /> <br />storage tanks shall be made with due care to avoid under- <br /> <br />mining of foundatj,ons of existing structures. <br /> <br />Unoerground tanks shall be set on a firm foundation, <br /> <br />the perimeter of which foundation shall be surrounded <br /> <br />with a minimum of six inches of clean sand. The tank <br /> <br />shall be surrounded with a minimum of 12 inches of <br /> <br />clean sand or equal ma~erial well-tamped in place. <br />"'Tanks shall be covered with a minimum of two <br /> <br />feet of sand or shall be covered by not less than <br /> <br />one foot of sand on top of which shall be placed a <br /> <br />slab of reinforced concrete not less than fDur inches <br /> <br />thick.
