J 10) is hereby <br /> <br />added to Chapter 9 of the Code of the city of Redwood city to <br /> <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />"Article IX. ELECrrRICAL CODE. <br /> <br />"Division 1. Adoption of Code. <br /> <br />(a) Pursuant to section 50022.1, <br /> <br />"Section 9.110 <br /> <br />et seq., of the Government Code and Section 15 of the <br /> <br />Cnart€r of the city of Redwood Ci"ty, the INational Elect.rir:a1 <br /> <br />Code, 1971 Edition, I as published by the National Fire <br /> <br />Protection Association, is hereby adopted and shall be in <br /> <br />effect within the city of Redwood city to the same exi:en't <br /> <br />as if set out in full herein except as expressly amended <br /> <br />by the prov isions of this article. The appendix, commencing <br /> <br />at page 70-526, is not adopted. <br /> <br />" (b) <br /> <br />In the event of any conflict or inconsistency <br /> <br />between the provisions of the National Electrical Code, <br /> <br />1971 Edition, hereinafter referred to as the 'Electrical <br /> <br />Code,' a./1 the provisions of this chapt-er, the requirement <br /> <br />which prescribes and establishes the higher standard of <br /> <br />safety shall apply unless otherwise stated in this article. <br /> <br />"Division 2. Administration. <br /> <br />"section 9.111 For the purposes of this article, the <br /> <br />following words and phrases shall have the meanings respec- <br /> <br />tively ascribed to them by this section: <br /> <br />"The te.TIl1 'electrica 1 system' as used in this article <br /> <br />or the ElectFical Code shall be deemed to mean and include <br /> <br />electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, materials, fixtures, <br /> <br />or devices, designed, or intended to be used, either singular- <br /> <br />ly or collectively, or in any combination thereof, to generate, <br /> <br />transmit, conduct, transfer or utilize electrical energy. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
