<br />SECTION 3. section 28.16 of the Code of the City of <br />Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"SECTION 28.16. If, after the investigation <br />by the police department as allowed by <br />Section 28.15 the department should deem it <br />advisable, the department may refuse to grant <br />a permit under this article." <br />SECTION 4. section 33.33 of the Code of the City of <br />Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"SECTION 33.33. It shall be unlawful for any <br />person to operate or drive a taxicab in the <br />city without having first obtained written <br />permission to do so from the chief of police. <br />To secure such permission, a written application <br />must be filed with the chief of police and <br />accompanied by a fee of ten dollars to cover <br />the costs of a photograph, badge, and finger- <br />printing. A badge shall be issued by the chief <br />of police and shall be conspicuously worn by the <br />permittee during all working hours. Such badge <br />shall not be transferable." <br />SECTION 5.
