Sections 23.53, 23.54, 23.55 and 23.56 of Article <br /> <br />IV of Chapter 23 of the Code of the City of Redwood City are <br /> <br />hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. Section 23.72 of Article V of Chapter 23 of the <br /> <br />Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />"Section 23.72 <br /> <br />The City Manager shall have the <br /> <br />authority to adjust the salaries of all administrative <br /> <br />positions in the City's service set forth in ranges and steps <br /> <br />in accordance with Section 23.71. The salaries of all positions <br /> <br />filled by Council appointment, and of the following adminis- <br /> <br />trative positions of the City, shall be established on an <br /> <br />annual basis, and shall not be set forth in steps or ranges: <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager <br />Personnel Director <br />Chief Building Official <br />city Librarian <br />Director of Public Works <br />Fire Chief <br />Police Chief <br />Park Superintendent <br />Planning Director <br />Recreation Director " <br /> <br />SECTION 4.
