<br />(e) Advise and assist the city Manager in the <br />preparation of a salary and wage plan. <br /> <br />(f) Perform such additional duties as may from <br />time to time ~e assigned by the personnel Board <br />or the City Manager consistent with the require- <br />ments of the charter of the City of Redwood city <br />and this chapter. " <br /> <br />SECTJ,ON 5. Section 23.5 of the Code of the city of Redwood <br /> <br />City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section :?3.5. The' personnel Board shall adopt rules <br /> <br />and regulations providing for administration by or under <br /> <br />direction of the city Manager of all matters pertaining to <br /> <br />competitive service regarding applications, examinations, <br /> <br />eligibility, promotions, compensation within classification, <br /> <br />job analysis and specification, appointments, demotions, trans- <br /> <br />fers, dismissals, suspensions, layoffs, re-employments, <br /> <br />vacations, leaves of absence and any other matters necessary <br /> <br />to carry out provisions and purposes of this chapter, and <br /> <br />such rules shall be binding upon all City employees and <br /> <br />officials including the Council. <br /> <br />II The Personne~. Board shall consult with the City <br /> <br />Manager and Director of Personnel in drawing up the rules <br /> <br />and regulations and following their adoption or revision, <br /> <br />the City Manager shall set forth and publish them. <br />SECTION 6. Section 23.16 of the Code of the City of Redwood <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />City is hereby amended to read as follmvs: <br /> <br />"Section 23.16. No person shall be appointed to the <br /> <br />Personnel Board who holds any salaried public office or <br /> <br />employment in the City: nor shall any person, while a <br /> <br />member of the Personnel Board or for a period of six <br /> <br />months after he has ceased for any reason to be a member, <br /> <br />be eligible .for appointment to any salaried office or <br /> <br />".... <br /> <br />- 3 - <br /> <br />T <br />
