<br />"Section 6.36 No application for a permit to con- <br />duct a sale regulated by this article or for the renewal of such <br />permit shall be accepted unless it is accompanied by a cash <br />deposit of one hundred dollars, to be applied to the cost of any <br />examination, audit or investigation of the applicant's inventory <br />required by the Manager pursuant to Section 6.31. <br />"Section 6.37 If the Manager provides for an examination, <br />audit or investigation of the applicant's inventory, as provided <br />in Section 6.31, there shall subsequently be deducted from the <br />deposit a sum equal to the actual cost of conducting such exam- <br />ination, audit or investigation. The amount deducted shall <br />not, however, exceed an amount equal to five dollars per hour <br />for each employee or agent of the City who is actually engaged <br />on the applicant's premises in the making of such examination, <br />audit or investigation. The balance of the sum deposited shall <br />be refunded to the applicant within thirty days of the term- <br />ination of his permit. In the event the examination, audit <br />or investigation expenses exceed the amount of the deposit, no <br />additional deposit shall be required. <br />"Section 6.38 If the Manager does not require an <br />examination, audit or investigation, as provided in Section <br />6.31, at the time the permit is issued, or if the permit is <br />denied, the deposit shall be refunded to the applicant within <br />ten days of the issuance of the denial or permit. <br />"At the time of granting of the permit, the Manager may <br />specify the maximum number of hours which may be consumed in <br />making the examination, audit or investigation of the applicant's <br />inventory. No refund shall be made, however, until the termination <br />of the permit and the total amount of refund is determined. <br />"Section 6.39 Any permit issued under the provisions <br />of this article shall authorize the one type of sale named in <br />the application, at the place named.therein, for a period of <br />not more than thirty calendar days, and shall permit the sale <br /> <br />-6- <br />
