<br />"Segion_H-202 All buildings or portions thereof <br />which are determined to be substandard as defined <br />in this Code are hereby declared to be public <br />nuisances and shall be abated by repair, rehabili- <br />tation, demolition, or removal in accordance with <br />the procedure specified in Article II of Chapter 9 <br />of the Code of the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br />"Section 9.62 <br /> <br />Section H-203 of the Housing Code is <br /> <br />hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Secti~n H-203 The Building Inspector is hereby <br />authorized and empowered to designate representa- <br />tives of the San ~lateo County Department of Health <br />and Welfare to act as his representatives in <br />investigating violations of, and enforcing any <br />provision of, the Code relating to inadequate <br />maintenance, dilapidation, decay, damage, inadequate <br />light, air or sanitation facilities, or any other <br />matter determined by the Health Officer as likely <br />to cause a building to be unsanitary, unfit for <br />.human habitation or in such'a condition that is <br />likely to cause sickness or disease. When so <br />designated such representatives shall have the <br />same powers and duties as the Building Inspector. <br /> <br />"ARTICLE VII. MECHANICAL CODE. <br /> <br />(a) Pursuant to section 50022.1, et seq., <br /> <br />"section 9.70 <br /> <br />of the Government Code and section 15 of the Charter of the <br /> <br />City of Redwood City, the 'Uniform Mechanical Code, 1967 <br />Edition,' as published by the International Association of <br /> <br />Plumbing and Mechanical Officials and the International <br /> <br />Conference of Building Officials, is hereby adopted and <br /> <br />shall be in effect within the City of Redwood City to the <br /> <br />same extent as if set out in full herein except as expressly <br /> <br />amended by the provisions of this article. The Appendix <br /> <br />thereto is specifically adopted and shall be enforceable <br /> <br />to the same extent as if contained in the body of said Code. <br /> <br />"(b) In the event of any conflict between the provisions <br /> <br />of the Uniform Mechanical Code, 1967 Edition, hereinafter <br /> <br />referred to as the Mechanical Code, . and the prov isions of <br /> <br />this chapter, the provisions of this chapter shall 2pply. <br /> <br />-14- <br />
