<br />or methods of installation not specifically prescribed by <br />this Code or the Plumbing Code, the Building Inspector may <br />approve any such alternate, provided he finds that such <br />alternate fixture, material, appliance or method of <br />installation is, for the purpose intended, at least the <br />equivalent of that prescribed in this Code or the Plumbing <br />Code in quality, strength, effectiveness, durability and <br />safety. The Building Inspector shall require that suff icient <br />evidence or proof be submitted to substantiate any claims <br />that may be made regarding such use. <br />"Whenever there is evidence that any fixture, material, <br />appliance or method of installation does not conform with <br />the requirements of this Code or the Plumbing Code, or in <br />order to substantiate claims for alternate fixtures, mater- <br />ial, appliance or methods of installation, the Building <br />Inspector may require tests as proof of compliance to be <br />made at the expense of the person applying for the permit, <br />or his agent, by an approved agency. <br />"Copies of the results of all such tests shall be kept <br />on file in the office of the Building Inspector for a period <br />of not less than two years after the approval of such fixture, <br />material, appliance or method of installation. <br />"The authority of the Building Inspector to approve <br />of any such alternate shall te~~inate on the adoption by <br />the Council of a resolution finding and determining that <br />the emergency no longer exists. <br />"All findings and determinations of the Council with <br />reference to the existence or termination of such emergency <br />shall be final and conclusive. <br /> <br />"section 9.82 <br /> <br />section 1.1 of the Plumbing Code is <br /> <br />...19-- <br /> <br />'r <br />
