<br />opens in a direction opposite to the flow of the <br />soil or waste or at right angles thereto and, <br />except in the case of 'wyz' branch and end-of-line <br />cleanouts, shall be installed vertically above <br />the flow line of the pipe. <br /> <br />"(d) Each cleanout extension shall be considered <br />as drainage piping and each 90 degree cleanout <br />extension shall be extended from a 'y' type fitting <br />or other approved fitting of equivalent sweep. <br /> <br />"(e) Each cleanout for an interceptor shall be <br />outside of such interceptor. <br /> <br />"(f) Each cleanout unless installed under an <br />approved cover plate shall be above grade, readily <br />accessible, and so located as to serve the purpose <br />for which it is intended. Cleanouts located under <br />cover plates shall be so installed as to provide <br />the clearances and accessibility required by this <br />section. <br /> <br />'! (g) Each cleanout in piping two inches or less <br />in size shall be so installed that there is a <br />clearance of not less than 12 inches in front of <br />the cleanout. Cleanouts in piping larger than <br />two inches shall have a clearance of not less than <br />18 inches in front of the cleanout. Cleanouts in <br />underfloor piping s11all be extended to or above <br />the finished floor or shall be extended outside <br />the building when there is less than 18 inches <br />vertical and 30 inches horizontal clearance from <br />the means of access to such cleanout. No under- <br />floor cleanout in any residential occupancy shall <br />be located more than 20 feet from an access door, <br />trap door or crawl hole. <br /> <br />"(h) Cleanout fittings shall be not less in size <br />than that given in Table 2-3. Except that cleanouts <br />serving piping five inches and larger need not <br />exceed four inches in size. <br /> <br />"(i) An approved type of two way cleanout fitting <br />acceptable to the administrative authority, <br />installed outside of a building at the lower end <br />of a building drain and extended accessibly above <br />grade, may be substituted for an upper terminal <br />cleanout. <br /> <br />Section 608 of the Plumbing Code is <br /> <br />"Section 9.95 <br /> <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 608 Appliances, devices, equipment or <br />other apparatus not regularly classed as plumbing <br />fixtures, but which are equipped with pumps, drips, <br />or drainage outlets, shall be drained by indirect <br />waste pipes discharging into an approved type <br />open receptor. No domestic dislnvashing machine <br />shall be directly connected to a drainage system. <br />Sizing of gravity condensate lines shall be not <br />less than permitted in Table 4-3(a) of this Code. <br /> <br />-24- <br />
