The drain may empty into the crawl <br />space or be taken to the exterior of the building. <br /> <br />Chapter 14 is added to the Plumbing <br /> <br />"Section 9.101 <br /> <br />Code to read as follows: <br /> <br />"CHAPTER 14 <br />RAIN'wATER DR1l.INAGE <br /> <br />"Section 1401 (a) Rainwater from roof or other <br />approved areas exposed to rainwater may be drained <br />into the storm drainage system, or the combined <br />sanitary and storm water drainage, but shall not <br />drain into any sewer intended for sanitary sewage <br />. only. <br /> <br />"(b) Rainwater drainage below curb, and also below <br />main sewer level, shall be installed as per <br />Section 409 of this Code. <br /> <br />"section 1402 A special permit shall be procured <br />in all cases to connect rainwater drai.nage to the <br />storm water drainage system, which special permit <br />shall bear the written approval of the City <br />Engineer or other public authority having juris- <br />diction over public sewers. <br /> <br />"Section 1403 Rainwater from roofs or other <br />approved areas exposed to rainwater may drain <br />into a public street gutter, provided that such <br />gutter is paved and runs to a catch basin connected <br />to a public sewer system and provided further that <br />such drainage has the approval of the City Engineer <br />or other public authority having jurisdiction over <br />public streets or public sewers. <br /> <br />"section 1404 Raimvater from roofs or other <br />approved areas may drain into a system of drain- <br />age piping designated to allow such drainage to <br />be absorbed by the soil of the premises, or may <br />discharge upon the premises outside of the building <br />walls. <br /> <br />"Section 1405 No rainVlater from roofs, or other <br />rainwater drainage of premises, shall discharge <br />upon a public sidewalk.
