<br />the City Engineer, except that the requirement of a prelim- <br />inary soil report may be waived by any of these bodies when <br />advised by the City Engineer that, due to the knowledge <br />the Engineering Department has as to soil qualities of the <br />soil of the subdivision or lot, no preliminary analysis is <br />necessary . <br />"Section 30.112 If the preliminary soil report <br />indicates the presence of critically expansive soils or <br />other soil problems which, if not corrected, would lead <br />to structural defects in structures erected wi thin the <br />subdivision, a soil investigation of each proposed lot in <br />the subdivision shall be prepared. The soil investigation <br />report shall be prepared by a civil engineer qualified in <br />soils testing and analysis registered in the State of <br />California and at the expense of the subdivider. The <br />investigation report shall recommend corrective action <br />which is likely to prevent structural damage to each structure <br />proposed to be constructed on the expansive or other critical <br />soil or site. <br />"The soil investigation report shall be filed in tripli- <br />cate with the City Engineer who shall transmit one copy each <br />to the Building Inspector and to the Planning Department. <br />"Section 30.113 In cases where a soil investigation <br />is required by the provisions of section 30.112 of this <br />article, no subdivision map shall be approved by the Sub- <br />division Committee nor any final subdivision map by the <br />City Planning Commission or City Council unless the invest- <br />igation and recommendations have been approved by the City <br />Engineer and the recommendations either complied with or <br />the map is accompanied by an agreement executed by the <br /> <br />-2- <br />
