<br />REG.ek <br /> <br />7/'10/64 <br /> <br />."'^" 'if <br /> <br />ORD~NANCE <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />11t;.~~ <br /> <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 6.l AND 6.2 OF, REPEALING <br />DIVISION 3, ARTICLE I, CHAPTER 6 OF, AND ADDING A NEW <br />DIVISION 3 TO ARTICLE I, CHAPTER 6, OF THE CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO THE CONDUCT OF AUCTIONS <br />IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION l. Section 6.l of the Code of the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 6.l. It shall be unlawful for any person to <br /> <br />sell, dispose of or offer for sale at public auction, or to <br /> <br />cause or permit to be sold, disposed of or offered for sale <br /> <br />at public auction, any personal property, whether the same <br /> <br />be their property or whether they shall sell the same as <br /> <br />agents or employees of others except as otherwise provided <br /> <br />by this section. <br /> <br />"Notwithstanding the foregoing, the following types <br /> <br />of auction sales shall not be subject to the provisions of <br /> <br />this article: <br /> <br />(a) Judicial sales. <br /> <br />(b) Sales made by executors or administrators as such. <br /> <br />(c) Sales of ordinary household furniture which has <br />been purchased or obtained by the owner thereof <br />for bona fide use as household furniture by the <br />owner thereof. <br /> <br />"Notwithstanding the foregoing, the following types <br /> <br />of auction sales shall be permitted subject to the obtaining <br /> <br />of a permit therefor as provided in this article: <br /> <br />(a) Sales made at public auction of the stock in <br />trade of any person that shall for the period <br />of one year next preceding the date of sale have <br />been continuously engaged in business in the City <br />as a retail or wholesale merchant, provided the <br />provisions of this article relating to public <br />auction sales of the stock in trade of retail or <br />wholesale merchants are complied with. <br /> <br />jo.I.. <br /> <br />'1<<1,",' <br />, <br />'" <br />t' '" <br />--'" <br /> <br />(b) Sales of any goods, wares or merchandise other <br />than those of stock in trade at an auction house, <br />provided that the provisions of this article <br />relating to such auctions are complied with." <br /> <br />f' <br />
