In the event any work is not completely <br />covered by the City's standard specifications, current <br /> <br />specifications established by the Department of Public <br /> <br />Works, State of California, for the doing of work on which <br /> <br />gasoline tax funds are utilized, shall apply. <br /> <br />"Section 29.93 <br /> <br />The City Engineer may establish such <br /> <br />conditions for the permit as he finds necessary to protect <br /> <br />the public using the street or alley. In addition to other <br />appropriate conditions, the following may be established: <br />U(a} The time and dates on which the work may <br />be done. <br /> <br />U(b} The supervision and safety precautions to <br />be employed, including the erection of barri- <br />cades, warning lights, signals and signs, <br />and the employment of personnel to direct <br />traffic. <br /> <br />"(c) The number of calendar days, not to exceed <br />180, for which the permit will be valid. <br /> <br />"(d) That the applicant furnish complete plans <br />and profiles prepared by a licensed civil <br />engineer for all the work. <br /> <br />"(e) That the applicant pay the reasonable costs <br />of the checking of plans, the making of <br />field inspections and the staking of the <br />project and that the applicant establish a <br />deposit in the amount of the estimated cost <br />of such engineering work. <br /> <br />"Section 29.94 <br /> <br />In the event the improvement work to <br /> <br />be performed will be done within the main traveled portion <br />of a street or alley, the City Engineer may require that <br />the applicant furnish the City with a performance bond to <br /> <br />assure that any improvement work commenced will be completed <br /> <br />within the time established by the permit and to the standards <br /> <br />established by the City and the permit. The amount, form and <br /> <br />nature of the surety shall be subjectto the City Engineer's <br />approval. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
