The resolution acknowledges that the Redevelopment Agency applied for and was awarded Caltrans funding and that the Redevelopment Agency will provide the required local match of ten percent (one- half may be in-kind and one-half must be local funding). The Environmental Justice Grant will produce the Fair Oaks Access and Improvement Study for Community Mobility as a result of participation from Fair Oaks residents and community leaders to identify and recommend improvement options to create pedestrian and bicycle-friendly streets, including safe access across Woodside Road in the vicinity of the Woodside I Middlefield Road intersection and identifying key routes linking Downtown with the Fair Oaks area. The Study is expected to commence summerlfall 2007 after the completion of the request for qualification process to select a consultant to perform the study. At the conclusion of the study, the Agency will seek capital funding opportunities to implement the desired design solutions. Fiscal Impact Of the total project cost of $170,000, Caltrans will provide a $153,000 grant that is reimbursable to the Agency. The remaining ten percent local match of $17,000 will be a cash match of $8,500 (RDA Capital Budget-Contingency Account 803) and the other one-half will be in-kind Agency staff time of $8,500.
