<br />7A <br />Page 11 <br /> <br />a. The Permit is only valid for the listed homeowner or tree cafe <br />company. <br />b. All pruning shall conform to current American National Standards <br />Institute (ANSI) A.300 Pruning Standards as appropriate for tree <br />pruning and palm pruning. <br />c. Violation of this permit may result in an administrative citation and <br />a fine of up to $500 per tree. <br />d. Tree trimming professionals must notify all property owners with <br />either verbal or written notice prior to performing work on any <br />trees on their property or adjacent to their property. <br />e. All pruning debris from trees shall be cleaned up by the <br />Homeowner or Contractor. All elm wood that cannot be chipped <br />shall be disposed of in landfill. <br />f. All tree removals will require a separate permit from the City. <br /> <br />D) Illegal Tree Removals and Pruning <br /> <br />1. Require replacing the removed tree with tree(s) of equal appraised <br />value and some way to monitor or ensure survival of the tree. <br /> <br />8. Update practices to match desired results and recommendations contained <br />within this document such as: <br /> <br />A) If a resident cannot provide a replacement tree as specified in Permitted <br />Tree Removals and Pruning and Illegal Tree Removals and Pruning <br />above as a result of removing a tree, then the cost of a replacement tree <br />would go into the tree fund for the affected neighborhood to plant on public <br />property or city right of way. <br /> <br />S) Institute an on-line work order system for initiating and tracking tree <br />permits. <br /> <br />C) Institute fee for permits. <br /> <br />D) Plant the species that provides the widest canopy that is appropriate for <br />the street tree planting site. <br /> <br />E) Plant native trees in public spaces where possible. <br /> <br />F) Update Street Tree Planting Standard Detail to reflect best practices and <br />require its use to protect sidewalks, gutters, curbs while safeguarding the <br />health of trees. <br /> <br />9.
