<br /> <br />EXHIBIT -A <br /> <br />JOHN CAHALAN <br />LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT <br /> <br />Scope of Services for: <br /> <br />HISTORIC COURTHOUSE LANDSCAPE RECONSTRUCTION <br />Redwood City, California <br />November 14, 2006 <br /> <br />PHASE 1- PRELIMINARY DESIGN I SCOPE VERIFICATION <br /> <br />1.01 Site Reconnaissance: Conduct a site reconnaissance of the site to evaluate existing <br />conditions. Consider the development of connections and linkages to courthouse <br />plaza/museum/theater way and the downtown as well as the County government area <br />(parking facilities). Photograph site for preparation of photo-boards. Review salvaged <br />historical building ornamentation for possible incorporation into the design. <br /> <br />1.02 Soil Analysis: Obtain site soil samples and have them tested by a laboratory for soil <br />preparation recommendations. <br /> <br />1.03 Photo-boards: Prepare photo-boards with panoramic views of the site and adjacent <br />areas for "in-house" use and presentation purposes. <br /> <br />1.04 Base Sheet: All base sheets (backgrounds) of existing and proposed conditions to be <br />provided by the City in AutoCAD 2002 or later version. Base sheets will consist of one <br />sheet at 1 "=20' -0" scale. <br /> <br />1.05 Preliminary Design I Scope Verification: Prepare a rough-draft planting design <br />concept with recommended hardscape and site furnishing improvements (and estimated <br />construction costs - see below).
