';'.. <br /> <br />JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING THE <br /> <br />SAN MATEO GABLE TELEVISION AUTHORITY <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT, by and between those governmental entities who become <br /> <br />signatories to this agreement (hereinafter referred to as the "Hembers" or <br /> <br />"Member" as the context requires), is made in light of the following recitals: <br /> <br />A. The Members have authority to exercise common powers regarding Cable <br /> <br />Television, including, but not limited to, conducting research; <br /> <br />administering franchises; administrating channels allocated or <br /> <br />contracted for city, school, public safety or community uses; and, <br /> <br />acquiring, <br /> <br />constructing, <br /> <br />maintaining, <br /> <br />operating <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />leasing <br /> <br />facilities for community television antenna systems, with facilities <br /> <br />and appurtenances necessary or convenient therefor. <br /> <br />Such purpose <br /> <br />will be accomplished, and said common powers exercised, in the manner <br /> <br />hereinafter set forth and in accordance with laws of the State of <br /> <br />Californ5;J.. <br /> <br />B. The parties are authorized to contract with each other for the joint <br /> <br />exercise of any common power pursuant to Government Code Sections <br /> <br />6500 through 6518. <br /> <br />NOW, THERE?ORE. the Members, in consideration of the mutual promises and <br /> <br />agreements contained herein. AG?~~ AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Pur~ose.
