5. SPECIAL ORDERS: <br />A. Proclamation: Barry Jolette, Winner of the 2007 Herb Wegner Memorial Award - <br />Vice Mayor Foust read portions of the proclamation and introduced Barry Jolette, <br />who thanked City Council and staff and said he has been fortunate and humbled <br />by the recognition. <br />B. Proclamation: Wells Fargo & John Adams for the Wells Fargo Learning Center <br />at the San Mateo History Museum — Mayor Pierce announced that John Adams <br />was not able to attend the meeting and the presentation of the proclamation will <br />be rescheduled. <br />C. Presentation: Redwood City School District Test Scores by Superintendent Jan <br />Christensen — Superintendent Christensen and Raul Parungao presented <br />information on the status of the Redwood City School District student test scores <br />and strategic planning. The Council acknowledged the work of the school district <br />and school board and expressed the hope that they will report back at a future <br />meeting. <br />D. Presentation: Colima, Sister City <br />Colima, Mayor Pierce stated that <br />returned from a trip to Sister City <br />report on their recent visit there. <br />whoever wins the election has <br />challenged staff to incorporate or <br />"Colima, I like it." <br />— After viewing a video on Mexican Sister City <br />6ity staff and Redwood City International just <br />Colima. He said it <br />will be an exciting event for the City, kids, and their families with forty tons of snow <br />being shipped into the new Courthouse Square, an entertainment stage all day long, <br />free photos with Santa, an indoor holiday boutique with twenty -two vendors, a <br />Discover Downtown walk, ice sculptures, a children's parade, tree lighting, train for <br />tots, and a Latino radio station. <br />Khader Ahmad of Main Street Market stated his concerns about wanting to keep the <br />10- minute green zone on Main Street. He said the green zone is used for deliveries <br />for many businesses and residents along Main Street because there is no middle <br />lane.
