Planning Department, but there has not yet been any resolution. He asked the City to <br />keep the 10- minute zone. Mayor Pierce asked City Manager Everett to follow up on <br />this issue. <br />Sandy Paoli stated that the CERT training in December was exceptional and that she <br />knew the students appreciated it. She noted that Council Member Bain had joined the <br />last session. The next session will be March 14, 17, and 24 and she said those who <br />are interested should contact her or the Fire Department for registration. She thanked <br />the San Mateo Credit Union and Sequoia Hospital for their contributions. She stated <br />her hope to come before Council with a presentation in the near future to keep their <br />interest level up. Next year, she would like to come again with a budget proposal. <br />She stated her belief in the program's potential in the preservation of lives and <br />property. <br />Keith Bautista, a member of the San Mateo Historical Association, stated he was here <br />tonight to add to the praise of Wells Fargo and John Adams. He stated his <br />appreciation towards Wells Fargo and John Adams for making the Wells Fargo <br />Learning Center at the San Mateo County History Museum a reality. He wanted to <br />express appreciation and to let everyone know specifically about how City staff: Paul <br />Willis, Jeannie Young, Jaime Lee, and Charles Jany helped finish the project on time <br />and on budget for the October 15 opening. He stated that thousands children now <br />and into the future will benefit from using the Center. <br />Memo Morantes, representing the Latino Leadership Council, made an official <br />invitation to everyone to come to the Latino Film Festival for the first time in Redwood <br />City. The gala will be this Thursday, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Courthouse, the movies start at <br />7:30 p.m. with red carpet across the street. He stated that the festival is open to <br />everyone as a cultural event, not just Latinos, and that the movies are great and have <br />subtitles because he has already seen some of them. He thanked everyone involved, <br />including the City and Redevelopment Division. Council Member Aguirre shared a <br />movie trailer that has been showing at movie theaters. The trailer was a collaboration <br />between the City of Redwood City and the Latino Leadership Council. She thanked <br />Malcolm Smith and Magda Gonzalez for putting the pieces together, Claudia Olalla for <br />doing the translation into Spanish, and Rene White for doing all the footage and <br />editing. <br />M/S Foust/Aguirre to waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances by <br />title, adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items.
