San Mateo County Council of Cities Bylaws — Red line version <br />Mayor Pierce stated that she had sent out the red line version of the bylaws <br />because it was not originally sent out. She thanked Council Member Hartnett <br />for his diligence in this matter. She stated that it did not need to be voted on, <br />but asked if there were any questions or comments that she should include as <br />they go to vote on them. <br />2. Reappointment for San Mateo County Transportation Authority South County <br />seat <br />Mayor Pierce stated that there is a reappointment opportunity for the SMCTA <br />South County seat and asked Vice Mayor Foust to speak on the matter. Vice <br />Mayor Foust stated that she began her term on the South County seat on <br />January 2005 and it ends December 31, 2006. She stated what the San <br />Mateo County Transportation Authority is, what it does, and what her role has <br />been there serving on the Strategic Plan sub - committee and as Vice Chair of <br />the San Mateo County Transportation Authority ( SMCTA). She stated her <br />hope that the election will take place at the Council of Cities, City Selection <br />Committee meeting in December. Both Mayor Pierce and Vice Mayor Foust <br />stated that they each sent out letters asking for support for Vice Mayor Foust's <br />reappointment to the South County seat. <br />3. Reappointment for San Mateo County Metropolitan Transportation <br />Commission <br />Mayor Pierce stated that Sue Lempert, former City Councilwoman and former <br />San Mateo City Mayor, will be asking for support for reappointment on the <br />Metropolitan Transportation Commission and the election will also take place <br />at the Council of Cities, City Selection Committee meeting in December. <br />4. Council Member Hartnett — stated that the City of Redwood City is part of an <br />organization called HEART (the Housing Fund of San Mateo County) and the <br />purpose of the organization is to help generate funds for affordable housing. <br />He stated that Council Member Howard is currently the City's representative on <br />HEART and could not be here tonight. He stated that there is a concern that <br />Council Member Howard was informed that HEART Board Members are <br />required to contribute their own personal funds in addition to helping fundraise <br />within their communities for HEART. Council Member Hartnett questioned <br />whether or not this is in alignment with the role of elected public officials to be <br />required to donate their personal funds and fundraise for any organization.
