<br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />Engineering Aide - Adminstrative (Continued) <br /> <br />Participate in the preparation. filing. and retrieval of a variety of <br />engineering maps, documents and records. <br /> <br />Assist traffic engineering staff as needed in conducting traffic studies, <br />preparing diagrams and reports, and other traffic related duties. <br /> <br />Research information for ownership and property description. <br /> <br />Performs related duties as assigned. <br /> <br />Take field trips as directed to inspect a specifically assigned item. or to <br />resolve a specific problem. <br /> <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />Engineering Aide - Administrative <br /> <br />Knowledge of: <br />Terminology, methods, practices and techniques of drafting. <br /> <br />, <br />Basic math, including trigonometry as applied to the computation of angles. <br />areas. distances and traverses. <br /> <br />Elementary surveying techniques and practices. <br /> <br />Engineering maps and records. <br /> <br />Modern office methods and practices. <br /> <br />City engineering policies and procedures; contruction, design, survey and <br />land use regulations and ordinances. <br /> <br />Basic methods, principles and procedures related to budgeting, accounting, <br />and purchase orders. <br /> <br />Construction Contract specifications and administration; cost estimates and <br />specification writing of capital improvement projects. <br /> <br />Basic methods. materials, equipment and tools used in construction projects. <br /> <br />Ability to: <br /> <br />Make accurate computations of material quantities, application rates and <br />production measures. <br /> <br />Perform work with a minimum of supervision. <br />
